Baris Balcioglu

Baris Balcioglu, Collaborating Professor
Professor Balcioglu received BS and MS degrees from Bilkent University in Turkey, and his PhD from Rutgers. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto, where his research interests are in stochastic models, the analysis of queueing systems, production/inventory systems, call centers, and simulation. He collaborates with C-MORE on a number of projects.

Prof. Beck

Chris Beck, Collaborating Professor
Professor Beck received his BSc from St. Francis Xavier University, and MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Toronto. Before his appointment to the University's faculty, he worked on ILOG's Scheduler Team in Paris, France and at the Cork Constraint Computation Centre in Ireland. At the University of Toronto, Professor Beck's research interests have included scheduling, optimization under uncertainty, queuing theory, online algorithms, heuristic search, and constraint programming. He collaborates with C-MORE on projects related to maintenance scheduling.

Dragan Banjevic, Project Director
Dr. Banjevic holds BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in statistics from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He directs the theoretical research component of C-MORE projects, including approaches to reliability and the establishment of mathematical procedures for the implementation of functional routines for maintenance decision-making. Dr. Banjevic's past non-academic work includes the automotive industry, hospital research, and statistical consulting to civil engineers engaged in road building. Currently he teaches as a visiting professor in both the University's Department of Statistics and the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.
